We’re Hiring: Help Spread the Word

February 17, 2011

With so many exciting new projects underway, we’re happy to announce that Team Slover Linett is growing again. We’re currently interviewing for two new research and assessment professionals: one research analyst and one research assistant. We’ve already received some great referrals and resumes, but if someone you know fits the bill, please point them in our direction. Here’s the low-down on each of the open positions.

  • Research analyst: We’re looking for a well-trained, sharp-minded researcher who is equally comfortable with qualitative and quantitative methods and has outstanding methodological and communication skills. The research analyst will work on all aspects of our studies, from research design and data collection to analyzing and interpreting data, writing reports, and presenting findings. The ideal candidate will have an academic background in a relevant social science and professional experience in social research, evaluation, and assessment in our sectors (arts & culture and higher ed).
  • Research assistant: We’re seeking a research assistant with experience and interest in both quantitative and qualitative research methods and a desire to grow in the nonprofit sector. This is an entry-level position with a wide range of responsibilities, including coordinating survey fieldwork and focus group recruiting, managing vendors and timelines, performing basic data analysis, and creating graphs and other content for reports. Like the research analyst, the research assistant will work in both of our domains, higher ed and arts & culture, and should have a demonstrated professional interest in one or the other.

“I’ve loved putting our team together over the last six years,” says managing partner Cheryl Slover-Linett, “and I’m excited about finding two people who bring new, unique strengths and personalities to the mix.”

Would you or someone you know make a great member of the Slover Linett research team? Please visit our career opportunities page for details.

Multiculturalism is key for creating inclusive arts experiences

Last month, Coca-Cola aired its now-famous Super Bowl ad depicting people from various racial, ethnic, and cultural groups singing “America the Beautiful” together in different languages. Among the instant outpouring of polarized reactions to this ad rang much praise for its depiction of a multicultural America. Yet the ad provoked a slew of negative responses as well. Many of the ad’s detractors questioned whether this multicultural America could ever feel as cohesive as an America whose citizens speak a common language, and therefore have taken great strides toward assimilating into a common culture.
